PowerPress vs PodPress

Well well, What do you know, the Podpress developer has come out of the wood work and announced that Podpress is back under development.

I’m sorry, 2 years of nothing from a developer I would consider it abandoned. In fact I had. I switched to Blubrry Powerpress not long after the WordPress 2.7.1 update by memory. May have even been earlier than that.

Would I go back to a package that had been abandoned for 2 years? Hell no! What’s to say in 6 months time the same thing doesn’t happen again. Then I’d be at square one again with a plugin that’s not going to be fixed / upgraded if problems arise.

I’m firmly sticking with the @blubrry Powerpress plugin. The blubrry powerpress team have a vested interest in maintaining their plugin. Not only that, their support is second to none and their services are just the icing on the cake.

Honestly I would not trust a wordpress plugin that has a history of being abandoned to control my podcasting feeds or iTunes info. But that’s just me.

I have no problem if those people who are die hard fans of podpress run it, Great there’s nothing wrong with multiple podcasting plugins for wordpress. In fact I’m sure it just makes Powerpress even more powerful and more advanced than those already out there :)

Blubrry Powerpress supersedes expectations once again

Well, @blubrry have done it again. The team at blubrry have superseded all expectations once again.

I’m one of the lucky ones who get to test Powerpress 1.0.0beta before it’s official release and what can I say. There are some really cool new features and the layout is just awesome.

The powerpress podcast plugin has just taken WordPress Podcasting to the next level.

blubrry_powerpress  Angelo has done an excellent job with the new features, I think alot of people will be scrambling to migrate to Powerpress 1.0 when it is released.

I’ve installed the new Beta of Powerpress on this site and my other business / primary podcast sites.

While I’m not sure if I’m going to be using the Premium Content Feed capabilities initially, it’s nice to be able to have the option for the future. Especially with one of my podcasts, I can see the benefit of “premium content” in the future.

What else can I say, If you’re looking at setting up a podcast on WordPress, or you already have a podcast setup with WordPress, You’d be silly not to at least give Powerpress 1.0 a look in when it is released.

No other WordPress podcast plugin is evolving as fast as Powerpress. The support from the @blubrry team is outstanding.

For those that are hell bent on the likes of Podpress or Podcasting, I think you’ll be impressed with Powerpress 1.0

WordPress Podcasting Plugins. Which one to choose

Ok, So I setup a podcast on a business website of ours. I found what I thought was a great plugin for WordPress which in turn I liked. It had nice setup features and good player placement customization.

I then started to think, maybe some of the others are better.
