I’m looking at moving the Podcast studio computers permanently to Ubuntu Linux.
I’m currently running the studio systems on USB key installs of Ubuntu. So far everything seems to be working well. I’ll be testing the recording software over the next few days and will be recording this weeks XTN on Ubuntu. Still deciding if I should use a Windows backup recorder just in case, and that probably won’t be a silly idea really.
Still have a little issue with the Linux blogging clients. I use Windows Live Writer which for a Microsoft application works really well in conjunction with WordPress. Also, I used iTunes to write the ID3 tags and insert album art so I’m also going to be playing with the ID3 tag editors under Linux.
I’m writing this on Lekhonee which is a gnome WordPress client. Anyway, all going well this time in a couple of weeks all the systems will be re-installed with Ubuntu.
If anyone is running Linux software for podcast production, I’d love to hear what software you use.
Once I get everything sorted on the Linux side, I’ll post a writeup with what I decide to use software wise.

Well, @blubrry have done it again. The team at blubrry have superseded all expectations once again.
I’m one of the lucky ones who get to test Powerpress 1.0.0beta before it’s official release and what can I say. There are some really cool new features and the layout is just awesome.
The powerpress podcast plugin has just taken WordPress Podcasting to the next level.
Angelo has done an excellent job with the new features, I think alot of people will be scrambling to migrate to Powerpress 1.0 when it is released.
I’ve installed the new Beta of Powerpress on this site and my other business / primary podcast sites.
While I’m not sure if I’m going to be using the Premium Content Feed capabilities initially, it’s nice to be able to have the option for the future. Especially with one of my podcasts, I can see the benefit of “premium content” in the future.
What else can I say, If you’re looking at setting up a podcast on WordPress, or you already have a podcast setup with WordPress, You’d be silly not to at least give Powerpress 1.0 a look in when it is released.
No other WordPress podcast plugin is evolving as fast as Powerpress. The support from the @blubrry team is outstanding.
For those that are hell bent on the likes of Podpress or Podcasting, I think you’ll be impressed with Powerpress 1.0

Well, as you know. I have been a little, ok a lot slack when it comes to my personal podcast.
This is a short episode which lasts around 7 minutes
In this episode I talk a little about procrastinating and why one shouldn’t do it. Being new to the whole podcast production thing and I also talk about a Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club charity ride which happened on the weekend of 30th of August 2009 and the way TVNZ mis-reported what the ride was about and claimed it to be a Protest ride. I also include a bit about the NZ Motor Cycle Cruiser Group (NZMCCG)
This is completely off the cuff and no real planning went into it, so I apologise in advance
I am confident things will start to get better from here on in with my Podcast.
You can visit the NZMCCG Website @ http://www.nzcruisergroup.co.nz if your a New Zealand Motor Cycle Cruiser rider and are looking for a great group of people to ride with.

Ok, So I setup a podcast on a business website of ours. I found what I thought was a great plugin for WordPress which in turn I liked. It had nice setup features and good player placement customization.
I then started to think, maybe some of the others are better.
