Google and their black bar

Well, I’ve seen a lot of people bitching on twitter over the last few days. Google seem to be finding out that “You can’t please everyone all of the time”

Google has unleashed what some think is the “Black bar of death” Now, not everyone has this bar and I only have it on my business Google Apps account. But I kinda like it. It’s clean and easy to read. Yeah, I like black but hell it could be worse. It could be fluro yellow or green..

Anyway, I fail to see where the problem is, Why do so many dislike it?

What are your thoughts? Do you like the black bar or not. I for one hope it sticks around.

Secure your WI-FI networks people.

I find it funny that people are bitching about the fact that Google have collected ‘Private’ data from peoples Wireless networks.

In an article over the the New Zealand Herald website Google sorry for collecting data Google is apologizing for collecting information from open/unsecured wireless networks.

If you are really that concerned about your bloody privacy, at least take the intuitive to protect your data by securing your network with a password. How many of you bitching about Google having ‘your data’ actually realize that if Google have it, who else does. More to the point, what are those other people doing with it.

If you’re stupid enough to run an open wifi network and transmit your private lives over it, what do you expect. Not everyone is a model citizen and there are many who will steal your stuff. It’s a fact of life. Get over it. Do you go to the supermarket and leave your car unlocked with the keys in the ignition.

Come on, Common sense is not that difficult surely.

Get over yourselves

street_map It is amazing how many New Zealanders seem to think that because Google Maps has a street view it’s a breach of privacy.

For fuck sake, If your outside do you complain about the people driving past who can see you. If you’re out in public you are more likely to end up being filmed or having your photo taken without you knowing.

It’s not like the photo’s are of you in your bloody bedroom, and if they are maybe you should learn to close the curtains before you bloody complain about having your privacy invaded.
