Nice Specs! Why did you put off getting glasses? You really suit them. I wouldn’t trust myself on my motorbike without my prescription contact lenses in. I have glasses however I’ve recently converted to soft contact lenses. I was a little worried about putting them in at first, however, there’s no problem at all. I also have cosmetic contact lenses to change the colour of my eyes. I have some Halloween style ones that make my eyes red! Can’t wait for Halloween!

I never went near any Google website; never saw anything about the stupid game. But the game sound effects came crashing in, and no matter what I did, short of turning the sound completely off, they just kept blasting unabated through my speakers. A real problem if you were trying to use the computer for music, radio, Youtube, skype, etc.

I wasted most of this nice Auckland Saturday morning trying to get rid of the blasted noise. A major cock-up by Google!

It all works great with Ubuntu Lucid, and I look forward to playing around with it and seeing what all I can do.

I use Audacity and EasyTag. For publishing to WordPress I use Blogtk and Bilbo Blogger.

As far as hardware, I have a Behringer U-Control UCA200 USB device hooked up to my mixer which works very well.

Look forward to hearing what all you went with. Wouldn’t mind hearing any hardware that you use either. I actually came across this post, looking for an usb audio mixer that is known to work with Ubuntu.

As you may be able to tell, This really get’s under my skin. Especially considering the age of the child.

I got up this morning to find a new version of Tweetmeme available.

Seems this issue has been resolved!

I’ve just removed the manual code for tweetmeme and reset the settings to ‘before’ and all is working well.

Still awaiting a new version of Facebook Share (new) though.

basically I just added the

manual code bit above the

bfa post bodycopy thing.

I have changed the settings to “manual” for both the plugins.

I am using the Atahualpa theme and the closest thing I could find is the “Loop” section.

So I did it like this:

Only thing, like your blog, the buttons are slightly not in alignment with the content i.e. slightly above the top line of the content, whereas previously it was level.

you can get the Tweetmeme and Facebook Share buttons back if you set them to manual and insert

echo tweetmeme(); echo fbshare_manual();

into your theme index and single files just before the_content function of WP.

Powerpress’s support was fantastic – they fixed the bugs and get me back up and operation in no time with personalized support over email.

Damn, Be good if it could all be sorted out and the super tour went ahead. Be worth paying to see them all together.

It sounds like you live in the stone age, why don’t you let those that work in the podcasting space and are abreast of what happens daily to manage ones podcast feed.

If you are letting libsyn or another company control your rss feed then you are being foolish and not building your own brand.

We are all busy in our lives and who has the time to visit three sites to manage and produce media. PowerPress is the most comprehensive plugin in the market.

New podcasters can have there own blogs setup with full podcasting support in a few minutes and for those looking to kick up the volume can take the time to make there show feed which is there #1 asset as detailed as they want and SEO freindly.

The team behind PowerPress are all podcasters and have been in the space since the very begining don’t rely on cheap hosting sites to provide your rss feed in this economy I would rather be 100% in control of my show and show feed then relying on cheap services.

I for one would rather use powerpress where I can manage rss feeds, stats and media hosting from the wordpress dashboard.

As with anything, Different strokes for different folks. But I feel PowerPress is the best option for Podcasting with WordPress.

Not only that, If a wordpress upgrade was going to break anything, I’m sure WordPress 2.9-rare would do a good job of it, And PowerPress is the only plugin it hasn’t broken.

Since installing PowerPress, I can say I have never looked back. It runs very well, and has the best support you could get. And as an added bonus, it runs flawlessly on WordPress 2.9-rare (Development version)

Thanks for that. I look forward to future releases of PowerPress. I understand you can’t / don’t want to leak too much info about the upcoming versions, But it sounds like PowerPress will be in a league of it own.

Keep an eye out for the release of PowerPress 1.0, it is going to include a lot more options as far as flash player options are concerned. I don’t want to leak the surprise just yet, but it will be worth the wait.

I have since switched to Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (eg. 8.10). After a clean install it behaves the way it should have from the start. I am left to ponder the original effort by Acer.

Most of the fixes were introduced in 8.04 LPIA (Hardy Heron, low-power Intel-architecture), but were never back-ported to any Gutsy or the other Hardy versions.
