Merry Christmas Everyone

Posted under General by Kimberly on Sunday 21 December 2008 at 12:45 pm UTC

chicsanta-r Where has the past year gone, It seems like it was just yesterday we were welcoming in 2008. Now it really isn’t that far away for 2009. Hell, that’s kind of a scary thought, when you stop and think about it. Or is that just me. :)

In all typical Palmy fashion. The weather has turned to custard. Hellooooo…. We are suppose to be in Summer. Looking out the window you wouldn’t believe it though.

I hope you everyone has a safe and wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year.

So, to all who read my blog, Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Merry Christmas

Farmers Santa Cave

Posted under General by Kimberly on Saturday 20 December 2008 at 2:01 pm UTC

santa-3 We decided to go have one last look at the Farmers Santa Cave, we are unsure if it will be setup when Farmers move premises. So it may be the last time we ever get to see it again.

Some of the displays still look like they need some tender loving care and work done to them. Though we were impressed that they have fixed a few of them already. The twirling cats and the monkey band, look like they have had some major work done to them.  So a big thumbs up to Farmers for the effort they put into maintaining the displays. It will be a shame if it goes for good.

Though I still don’t know about the merry go round, There were some kids getting off that, looking decidedly green around the gills :)

Surprisingly it wasn’t as busy as I’d thought it would be. We arrived at around 11:20am and I had thought we’d be queuing for a heck of a lot longer than we had to.

If you’re in Palmerston North, I’d highly recommend taking the kids down to see it. You may not get the chance again, once Farmers move to the new Plaza building.

Kiwi’s and Aliens

Posted under General by Kimberly on Friday 19 December 2008 at 1:30 pm UTC

Ok, This made me laugh. It may offend some aussies, but then as a kiwi girl. I have no problem with that. :D

There was a Kiwi bloke on earth doing the Haka. Somewhere in space, Aliens were watching this unusual dance. “Ka-mate, ka-mate, ka-ora, ka-ora..” The Aliens were very interested and they wanted to see what would happen if they took a part of his brain away without him knowing. So with their alien technology they sent a laser beam down that hit the Kiwi’s head and took a part of his brain away. The Aliens then sat back to see what would happen. “Ka-mate, ka-mate, ka-ora, ka-ora..” What the??? The Aliens were amazed at what they saw. The Kiwi guy could operate with less than a full brain. So they decided to send the beam down and take another part of his brain. The Aliens watched on. “Ka-mate, ka-mate, ka-ora, ka-ora..”

“WHAT!!” the Aliens said to each other.”These Kiwis are very clever people even with half a brain. Let’s see what happens if we take the rest away and leave him with no brain at all!” So with a push of a button the Aliens sent the beam down and took away the final part of the Kiwi’s brain. “Now surely he won’t know anything at all. He should be too dumb and stupid to do anything now?”And sure enough, with no brain and no knowledge of anything at all the Aliens watched on as the bloke sang “WALTZING MATILDA, WALTZING MATILDA..”

The silly season

Posted under General by Kimberly on Thursday 18 December 2008 at 3:44 pm UTC

Yesterday we had to duck into town to pickup a couple of things. Low and behold trying to get a car park was a nightmare. You can definitely tell school holidays are upon us. But it makes me wonder what the hell everyone is on about with regards to the supposed recession were are in. There seems to be a lot of spending going on this past week, I guess next week is going to be even worse with the lead up to Christmas.

Then today we went to pick up a couple of movie tickets for tomorrow afternoon. We thought we’d park in the Downtown parking building. Yeah, well. We got up the ramp to find a ‘Full” sign.

What a fucking stupid place to have a “Full” sign. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the sign at the bottom of the ramp where one can see it from the road so we don’t waste our time driving up to find it’s full.

Well, I noticed not long after I had done a U Turn and found a park on the road, that 3 more cars had to do the same.  Next thing you know, the dopey security guard who watched us do a U turn is standing down the bottom of the ramp telling people it’s full.

I think I’ll hold off going into town again until after New Years.. :)

Feilding Christmas Parade

Posted under General by Kimberly on Monday 15 December 2008 at 11:39 pm UTC

Christmas Parade 015 Well, after the disappointment of the so called Palmerston North Christmas Parade. We decided to head over to Feilding on Sunday 14th December to have a peek at what Friendly Feilding had to offer.

Well, I’m very pleased we went. The weather was just fantastic and the parade was actually worth while going over for.

We have decided that instead of wasting time with Palmerston North’s parade ever again, we’ll just go over to Feilding to see theirs.

Shocking, a parade that’s not all about advertising dumb arse companies that half the population would never use. Which is pretty much all Palmy’s parade was. Feilding at least put some thought into their floats unlike a certain other Christmas parade. I have to give Feilding more credit on the fact their santa didn’t have some bimbo teen bride sitting next to him :)

All in all the afternoon was well worth it and it was good to have a look around the market stalls that had also attended around immediate area.

WordPress 2.7

Posted under Technology by Kimberly on Thursday 11 December 2008 at 8:36 pm UTC

wp-dashboard Well, I’ve just upgraded to WordPress 2.7, and I have to say. I am extremely impressed with the new design of the dashboard.

It’s ease of use makes it so much quicker and easier to administer my blog.

While I still use Windows Live Writer to publish blog entries. The QuickPress appears to be lacking an option to select a category for the entry but I’ll have a play with it at some stage to see how it goes for adding entries on the fly. :)

I found this cool video on WordPress.org which does a quick show case of the dashboard.

How to turn down unwanted men

Posted under General by Kimberly on Tuesday 9 December 2008 at 10:39 pm UTC

I Saw this on a Trade Me forum. :) Yeah, I read too many trademe threads. But I found it amusing.

headacheadache_quix08_4 HE : Can I buy you a drink?

SHE : Actually I’d rather have the money.

HE : I’m a photographer. I’ve been looking for a face like yours.

SHE : I’m a plastic surgeon. I’ve been looking for a face like yours.

HE : Hi. Didn’t we go on a date once? Or was it twice?

SHE : Must’ve been once. I never make the same mistake twice.

HE : How did you get to be so beautiful?

SHE : I must’ve been given your share.

HE : Will you go out with me this Saturday?

SHE : Sorry. I’m having a headache this weekend.

HE : Your face must turn a few heads.

SHE : And your face must turn a few stomachs.

HE : Go on ,don’t be shy. Ask me out.

SHE : Okay, get out.

HE : I think I could make you very happy.

SHE : Why? Are you leaving?

HE : What would you say if I asked you to marry me?

SHE : Nothing. I can’t talk and laugh at the same time.

HE : Can I have your name?

SHE : Why? Don’t you already have one?

HE : Shall we go see a movie?

SHE : I’ve already seen it.

HE : Where have you been all my life?

SHE : Hiding from you.

HE : Haven’t I seen you some place before?

SHE : Yes. That’s why I don’t go there anymore.

HE : Is this seat empty?

SHE : Yes, and this one will be if you sit down.

Retail Therapy

Shoes 002A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes. :) so when we were looking around No 1 Shoe Warehouse and I found these for $10.00 I couldn’t just leave them there.

They had to a part of my foot wear collection. And they look as hot as hell with a pair of jeans and tight t-shirt :D

We initially went to buy some sandals for wearing during summer. Which I managed to get too. :) So all in all I guess you could say I had a good day shoe shopping :)

Get over yourselves

Posted under General by Kimberly on Tuesday 2 December 2008 at 7:49 pm UTC

street_map It is amazing how many New Zealanders seem to think that because Google Maps has a street view it’s a breach of privacy.

For fuck sake, If your outside do you complain about the people driving past who can see you. If you’re out in public you are more likely to end up being filmed or having your photo taken without you knowing.

It’s not like the photo’s are of you in your bloody bedroom, and if they are maybe you should learn to close the curtains before you bloody complain about having your privacy invaded.
